Be a Kula Volunteer

Practice your Karma Yoga in nature,
have a good time too.
Volunteer Tickets are $70

What's involved you may ask?
Well, as a volunteer, you are required to assist with about 12 hours of volunteer activities from Friday - Sunday of the event.
Of course, we endeavour to allow space for you to enjoy the yoga classes and other activities as well.

How do I get selected?
Your degree of availability will determine your acceptance as a volunteer the Kula Yoga Camping weekend.
Secondarily is your skill set. However, willing helpers keen to learn are greatly appreciated.
You must also be able to attend our volunteer meeting at 10am on the first day of Kula Yoga gathering at the Grove. Please allow plenty of travel time to be punctual.

We are looking for volunteers to assist us in 4 key areas.
1. Bump in and out (set up & pack up)
Friday morning and general help as needed over the weekend.

2. Kitchen Angels
We require a few people help with the smooth operation of the Kula kitchen, as well as a co-ordinator. Your availability is needed from after the volunteer meeting Friday morning, through to pack up Sunday evening. Your time will be divided up over the weekend so you can still enjoy the festival.

Duties required:
  • Keep kitchen clean and orderly and includes:
    • meal preparation
    • cooking
    • food service
    • clean up
  • Liaise with Shantell about menu. It will be mainly determined by the food people bring; so creative flair will be an asset.
  • Ensure the area is available for breakfast use by yogis between 7am – 8am. From 8am the only use of kitchen is for community meal preparations.
  • Check the Kitchen is tidy at close of evening, around 9:30pm
  • More details like lunch and dinner times will be provided closer to the event.

3. Meet & greet, sherpas & parking attendants
These will be in 3 hour rotations on Friday and Saturday.
Your role is to greet people as they arrive, register them, put on their arm bands, directing people where to park, set up tents, etc.

4. General odd jobs and assistance
Cleaning the bathrooms, helping yoga teachers before and after their classes, assisting at the healing tent, and odd jobs as they arise.

Note: you may be allocated with more than 1 role over the weekend.
