Kula Kitchen

The Kula Kitchen is the home and hearth of our beautiful gathering.
The idea is that you bring vegetarian (organic where possible) food ingredients to share.
We cook together, clean together, dine under shady trees, or around the fire together.

Opening Hours

Priority is given for the preparation of community lunches & dinners. You therefore have access to the kitchen for personal use at the following times:
• Friday: until 3pm & after 7:00pm
• Saturday: until 10am & after 7:30pm
• Sunday: until 10am & after 1:30pm

Note: You can bring your community food contributions in at anytime.

Kitchen House Rules

• Vegetarian food only ~ no animal flesh products of any kind.
• Be considerate of others.
• Plan ahead, be as quick as possible & keep it tidy.
• To keep kitchen clear & to avoid personal loss, remove your utensil, knives, dishes, tea towel, camp stoves, etc., asap - leave no trace.
• Any food / beverages left in the kitchen, gets used by the community.

What we provide

 Open air, under cover kitchen space.
Large eskys with ice for perishables.
Bench space for food preparation.
2 large gas burners, large pots & cooking utensils.
Camp fire pit & wood for boiling water, etc.
Wash up area with detergent & cleaning cloths.
Drinking water.

You can bring your own

Bowl, plate, cup, cutlery,
Food prep utensils.
Chopping board
Chopping knife.
Tea-towels.
Personal gas cooker (optional)
Drinking water (optional)


Suggested food offerings for Kula meals

Only need to pick a few things from the list
Organic (preferred) and Vegetarian ingredients please

Fresh Ginger & Turmeric
Fresh herbs – coriander, mint, basil, parsley, etc
Dried herbs and spices
Fresh lemon, lime & orange
Fresh fruit
Salad greens – lettuce, rocket, baby spinach
Other salad vegetables
Sweet Potato
Pumpkin - only small amount, because most people bring it
Cabbage
Fresh Sweetcorn
Quinoa
Lentils – tinned, dried or cooked
Chickpeas – tinned, dried or cooked
Oats
Rice – brown or white
Rice stick, or clear mung bean noodles
Activated Seeds & Nuts (no peanuts)
Chia seeds
Coconut cream
Honey
Tahini
Tamari
Balsamic vinegar
Oil - olive or coconut
Healthy breads
Eggs
Milk – soy, almond, oat, coconut (great for community chai)
